Arlo has been having a hard time falling asleep at night. He has tried many different things to get us to come back in after we have already said Goodnight - Everything from claiming he has to go to the bathroom to yelling for help. One night he drove his pretend snow mobile for about a half hour in his bed and once he built an entire house out of pillows and blankets. Last night, after he finally fell asleep, he was laying in bed with his Fire Station. Here he is in one of his more creative comfortable sleeping positions - finally asleep.
Waking up is another story.... Arlo has been waking up anywhere between 4 AM and 5AM - much too early for the rest of the family. So we started using a "Good Morning Light" It is on a timer that lights up at 5:35 (a good compromise we think) Arlo is now in charge of telling the rest of us when it is morning, "IT'S MORNING TIME!!!!" He is very proud of his new responsibility.

I'm sure that creative sleeping positions are just another sign of extremely high intelligence! The early wake-up situation, however, I don't know what to think about that one. All I can say is that remember this when he's a teenager, because you won't be able to get him out of bed early! Then you can have the pleasure of waking him up -- what goes around does come around! Arlo sure is cute -- awake or asleep! Love, Grammy
I love the night light idea! Man we need that in our house.....Hope all is well! Love reading your blogs.
Genius on the Good Morning light!! Here's what I would do... add 5 minutes each day to the wake-up time... eventually he'll be up at 9 a.m. and you'll be well rested. Okay, NOT REALLY, but like your mom said just wait until he's a teenager :)
Arlo, Is that mouse eating popcorn in your bed???!!!!
